Mold Certification Track

Enviro-Con Services offers Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) approved Mold Initial and Continuing Education (CE) courses.

Under TDLR mold regulations, licensed professionals must complete approved Continuing Education (CE) to renew and maintain licensure. These courses ensure expertise in industry standards, remediation procedures and protocols, moisture control, contamination prevention, and best practices in mold assessment and remediation.

Available mold CE/refresher courses may include:

  • Mold Remediation Contractor (MRC) CE
  • Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC) CE
  • Mold Remediation Worker (MRW) Refresher
  • Mold Assessment Technician (/MAT) CE- (Take a MAC CE)
  • Specialized Mold Antimicrobial Remediation Technician (AMRT) Training

These courses reinforce critical concepts such as containment methods, moisture intrusion prevention, remediation documentation, project protocols, indoor air quality awareness, sampling fundamentals, PPE requirements, antimicrobial applications, and TDLR compliance expectations.

Initial

Mold Introductory Courses establish the baseline knowledge required to identify mold conditions, understand health and safety risks, and perform assessment or remediation tasks in compliance with state rules.

Continuing Education

Every 2 years, technicians must renew their certificate in order to reinforce standards, update regulatory knowledge, and strengthen professional competency in mold assessment and remediation.

Mold Courses

40-Hour Mold Remediation Contractor (MRC)

Our 40-Hour MRC course combines Texas regulatory requirements with practical, hands-on training to prepare professionals for real-world mold remediation projects.

Students learn how to develop remediation plans, establish containment, implement safety and engineering controls, manage moisture issues, document projects, and perform proper remediation procedures.

Through hands-on exercises, students work as a team to plan a project, build containment, and operate remediation equipment in a controlled training environment.

Training incorporates applicable TDLR requirements, minimum work practices, and recognized industry guidance, including IICRC guidelines.

Whether you are advancing your career or building a remediation business, this course provides the foundation to take the next step in the mold remediation industry.

Important: Mold remediators may NOT assess mold or write remediation protocols.

4-Hour Mold Remediation Worker (MRW)

Gain the essential knowledge and safety practices needed to perform hands-on mold remediation work under the supervision of a licensed Mold Remediation Contractor.

This entry-level course covers mold contamination, worker safety, PPE, containment, demolition, cleaning procedures, engineering controls, cross-contamination prevention, HEPA filtration, moisture control, and worksite decontamination.

Designed to give workers a practical foundation in the safe and proper practices used on professional mold remediation projects.

40-Hour Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC)

This 40-hour course covers TDLR requirements, mold and moisture evaluation, visual assessments, sampling strategies, field documentation, assessment reporting, and remediation protocol development.

Students apply their knowledge through realistic assessment scenarios, working with peers to evaluate building conditions, identify concerns, discuss findings, and practice appropriate assessment and sampling methods.

Training incorporates applicable TDLR requirements, minimum assessment standards, and recognized industry guidance, including IICRC guidelines, with a focus on applying these requirements to real-world field decisions.

The MAC credential can support careers in environmental services, independent consulting, property assessments, insurance-related consulting, and specialized mold assessment.

Important: Mold Assessment Consultants may not perform remediation on the same project they assess.

Important: Mold assessors may NOT perform mold remediation on the same project they assess.

32-Hour Mold Antimicrobial Remediation Technician (AMRT)

Develop advanced skills in antimicrobial remediation, sanitation, and microbial contamination control with IICRC AMRT training.

This course covers microbial growth conditions, moisture control, cleaning and removal techniques, antimicrobial products, PPE, containment, engineering controls, decontamination, and safe chemical handling.

Students learn key considerations for product selection, SDS interpretation, chemical compatibility, application methods, dwell times, ventilation, and exposure prevention, while understanding the role of antimicrobial applications within a complete remediation strategy.

Designed for professionals working in residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional environments, this course provides specialized training for effective microbial contamination control.

Important: Antimicrobial application does not replace source removal, proper cleaning, or correction of the underlying moisture condition.

Mold Continuing education (CE)

Our Mold Continuing Education (CE) courses are designed for professionals who have already completed their required initial training and need to maintain their TDLR-required continuing education. TDLR requires CE within two years prior to renewal.

At Enviro-Con Services, we believe mold training should be more than simply completing required hours.

Bring your questions, experiences, and real-life situations. We welcome discussion and encourage students to learn from one another.

Training Options: Attend In Person at Enviro-Con Services or participate Online via Zoom.
